It is recommended for installation in FTTx/FTTH access networks for interconnecting Optical Termination Boxes and customer accesses, in aerial networks in spans of up to 80m. They can typically have 2 to 12 optical fibers. They are not recommended for the construction of backbone and metropolitan networks. The sheath, with regard to flame behavior, is of the COG (General Purpose Optical Cable) type. It meets ABNT Standard: NBR 15.596 and Anatel Requirements.
The Figure 8 Drop cable is used in a self-supporting manner for spans up to 80m. For this purpose, it has a main traction element (messenger) made of steel. It can be composed of 1 to 12 optical fibers of the SM G.652.D type. Its sheath is of the COG type (General Purpose Optical Cable).
