40 and 60mm Tube (Splice Protector)

The 40 or 60 mm fiber optic splice protection tubes are used to support and protect an optical fusion splice. In addition to two heat shrink tubes, inside the protection tube there is a support element made of 304 stainless steel that helps protect the splice area. The protective tube or sleeve must be installed before the fusion process, and then it must be contracted using the oven of the fiber optic fusion machine itself, since the tube is made of polyolefin, a heat shrinkable material, which decreases in size when exposed to heat. In this way, the protection tube will decrease in size, sealing the fiber optic splice area and protecting it from external damage, humidity or sudden movements that could break the optical fiber.
