The ONU DM986 – 414 is an excellent solution for optical access with EPON or GPON technologies, offering high speed and excellent cost-benefit for broadband applications and Triple Play services (voice, video and data). These technologies allow the sharing of optical fiber between customers, reducing costs and maximizing the use of bandwidth and installed fibers.
The DM986-414 is a full-featured GPON ONU that complies with ITU-T G.984 and ITU-T G.988 standards for high-speed fiber optic access applications, enabling the delivery of IP data, voice and video services to residential users. Ethernet data is transparently transported over the GPON link and delivered to an Optical Line Termination Unit (OLT) such as the DM4610 OLT (4-GPON and 8-GPON), DM4615 OLT (16-GPON) and DM4618 OLT (64-GPON).
The ONU features an advanced Wi-Fi interface to support applications that require high data traffic. Four external high-gain antennas (two for 2.4GHz and two for 5.8GHz) installed on two rods provide superior coverage, which together with 2×2 MIMO and Beamforming at 5.8GHz, create a fast and stable Wi-Fi connection.
Supports mesh functionality through the Easymesh standard, expanding network coverage. In this solution, the ONU DM986-414 operates in controller mode, managing links between mesh routers that connect and distribute the signal to form a single network, providing a quality signal in locations with low signal quality.
The ONU DM986-414 supports Preset settings, which allows the customization of factory settings, so that when the customer resets the equipment, it returns to the standard defined in the preset and not to the manufacturer’s default settings.
The DM986-414 ONU also has a remote management feature via the TR-069 protocol. With this feature, the ISP can manage all routers installed on its subscribers’ devices via the cloud. Management via the TR-069 enables the ISP to perform remote diagnostics and testing, reducing operating costs.
