TP-LINK MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber to 100Base-TX copper cable or vice versa. Adopting WDM technology, MC111CS uses only one fiber cable to transmit and receive data, which will save you half the cabling cost. Designed under IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, TP-LINK MC111CS is designed for use with single-mode fiber using SC Type connector.
The MC111CS supports longwave (LX) lasers at full wire-speed transmission rates. It operates at 1550nm for data transmission and 1310nm for data reception. Thus, the device at the other end cooperates with the MC111CS operating at 1310nm for data transmission and 1550nm for data reception. Another TP-LINK media converter, the MC112CS, is just one example of cooperation with the MC111CS.
Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a standalone device (no chassis required) or with TP-Link’s 19-inch chassis, Auto MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, auto-negotiation of duplex mode on the TX port, and status LEDs on the front panel. The MC111CS will transmit over single-mode fiber over distances of up to 20 km.
